In stock form, the factory LT5 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 produced 755 horsepower. However, the LMR upgrade dialed things up to 11. The package includes ported cylinder heads, upgraded valve springs and retainers, hardened pushrods, and a complete timing chain upgrade. Meanwhile, new upper and lower pulleys contribute to increased boost pressure.
The extra output is supported by a revamped fuel system with LMR’s custom low-side setup and upgraded port injectors. At the same time, the exhaust system features long-tube stainless steel headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and stainless steel mid-pipes. A high-flow air induction system and billet throttle body help the engine breathe more efficiently.
Wright’s ZR1 was delivered with a tune based on 93-octane fuel, delivering rear-wheel horsepower of about 880 and roughly 1,000 horsepower at the crank. However, the LMR 1200 package means the engine can safely handle significantly more power with appropriate fuel and tuning adjustments.
