Giveaway #8 Winner Profile: Mahindra Halliburton and the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss

717 Supply’s giveaway #8 was a bonus contest for the 2023 holiday season, which worked out perfectly for Mahindra Halliburton of Florida. In addition to winning this gleaming black-on-black truck, Halliburton also took home $10,000. Unlike some of the other giveaways that involved heavy modifications, this prize came with most of its off-road prowess built right in from the factory. A sticker price of $55,440 shows this Silverado delivers a lot of bang for the buck.

Chevy engineered the Trail Boss edition to deliver off-road capability straight from the showroom. It combines the practicality of the Custom trim with upgrades like the Z71 Off-Road Package, which includes a two-inch factory lift, monotube Rancho shocks, skid plates, and hill descent control. An automatic locking rear differential is also part of the equipment roster. Notably, the upgraded suspension is tuned from the factory to handle trail conditions without affecting ride quality.

Ground clearance is significantly better than standard Silverado models, as the upgraded suspension components are tuned from the factory to handle trail conditions without compromising ride quality.

In the looks department, the Trail Boss stands out with its black grille lettering, red recovery hooks, and distinctive badging. Chevrolet also added an aggressive hood design to give this truck a more commanding presence without detracting from the classic Silverado crew cab and short bed profile.

In 717 Supply tradition, the vehicle couldn’t stay completely stock. The factory wheels and tires were swapped for Method off-road race wheels wrapped in 35-inch Toyo mud-terrain tires. The 18-inch wheels, finished in black with gold hardware, support the truck’s dark theme. Meanwhile, a front leveling kit gives the nose a matching stance to the rear, eliminating the stock rake and creating a modestly improved off-road approach angle. Significantly, the truck’s towing capacity of 11,000 pounds didn’t change.

Other 717 Supply touches include a 20% side and rear window tint that reinforces the Trail Boss’s aggressive street presence. The standard whip antenna was changed to a stubby unit to maintain the Silverado’s clean aesthetic. Importantly, all modifications preserve factory warranty coverage while giving this truck a more distinctive personality.

At the same time, the Trail Boss’s cabin boasts comfort and practicality. The front row features a center seat that can be converted into a storage console when needed, giving this truck a five- or six-person capability. Other front-row amenities include a driver’s seat with power controls and a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The generous second row has its own air vents and storage areas.

Chevrolet also equips the Trail Boss with numerous conveniences, including automatic climate control, multiple USB ports, and an integrated trailer brake controller.  The net result is a truck ready for daily driving duties and off-pavement adventures.

For Halliburton, the Trail Boss offered a ready-to-go off-road truck with factory engineering, warranty coverage, and proven capability — no need for costly or complicated aftermarket upgrades.
