When the call finally came, though, things didn’t click right away. “At first I thought, what if I am one of those people that are getting tricked right now, especially with all this AI technology,” Manzanares said. It wasn’t until he saw the announcement posted online that it sank in. “It wasn’t until I saw the post that I was like, ‘Okay, all right—this is getting real.’”
The car reveal was everything he hoped for, minus one awkward twist. When asked whether he could drive a manual, he had to come clean: “I can’t drive manual,” he admitted. “Mike was like, ‘When were you going to tell us that?’” Still, he took it in stride and was ready to learn.
His friends and family were blown away. “Everyone was super excited and never thought they would know someone who won a car. Some have started entering now,” he said. Manzanares already had practical uses in mind for both prizes. “I’m going to use the car and most likely use it as a daily,” he said. “As for the cash, I’m probably going to use it to pay off any bills or debt that I have.”
For anyone on the fence about entering, James had this to say: “The people out there that are hesitant, just buy something. It really is the quality of the products and the shirts. You never know, you might end up going home with a new car, too.”
