GIVEAWAY #26 WINNER PROFILE:

Rock Friend and the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LTZ

Some 717 Supply winners have been following founder Mike Hyssong and his Street Speed 717 YouTube channel since the beginning, but few can claim the dedication of Rock Friend from Virginia Beach. His years of loyalty finally paid off with a fully loaded 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LTZ plus $31,500 from the company's 19th giveaway.

Friend has been following 717 Supply since Hyssong’s earliest YouTube days. “I just watched his YouTube back when he had the yellow Corvette,” he explained, referencing content from a decade ago. At first, he couldn’t believe it—but the second he heard Hyssong’s voice, it clicked. “When I saw the phone number, I said ‘no way I won’ and then I heard Mike’s voice,” Friend recalled about the life-changing moment. He added, “I was completely stunned, and my heart was racing. I wasn't expecting it. Completely shocked and blown away.”

Friend had been tossing his name in the giveaway hat for a couple of years, “I have been entering for at least a couple of years. A thing here, a thing there," he shared, adding with a laugh, "Recently, I'm trying to be the person who wins a second time.”

As far as Friend’s family, their reaction was a familiar story, but one that never gets old. “They didn't believe me until they saw it come up on his Instagram,” Friend noted. At that point, his loved ones joined in on the good news.

The trip to Pennsylvania for the reveal provided Friend with his first glimpse of the massive, Duramax diesel-powered Chevy Silverado 2500 LTZ. His reaction upon seeing the truck was immediate: “Beautiful truck, just beautiful.” And the size? That caught him off guard. When asked if it matched what he expected, Friend's response was clear: “It’s bigger. It’s definitely bigger, dude, it’s massive.”

The truck’s scale became even more apparent during the walkthrough. When Hyssong showed off the power tailgate, Friend marveled at the workstation feature. The fully loaded LTZ trim impressed him with features he hadn't expected, including a digital rearview mirror and a sliding rear window.

By now, Friend’s more than just a contestant—he’s a believer and an active advocate for the program's legitimacy. “Same thing I tell everyone, enter—it's real! I always show people my picture on the Past Winners page and show them it’s really real," he emphasized. Friend adds, “Everyone should take the chance and enter, you never know!"

The trip back to Virginia Beach became an immediate bonding experience with his new truck. “We drove the truck back and stopped and ate dinner,” he shared, treating the five-hour ride as a celebration. Later, he let the 717 Supply team know that the truck has since earned the nickname “The Beast” due to its oversized street presence.

For Friend, the most memorable aspect wasn't just winning the truck, but also creating a personal connection. “I'd have to say going there and meeting Mike and Ben! They’re super nice,” he reflected. “It was a fantastic experience!”

About the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LTZ

When Mike Hyssong handed over the keys during the reveal, he pointed out how the Storm Gray paint, the LTZ trim, and the black badge package come together to make this build stand out. The usual chrome accents? Gone. In their place: a dark, aggressive look that gives the truck a menacing stance.

Pop the hood and you’ll find the proven 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V8 cranking out 470 horsepower and a hefty 975 lb-ft of torque. Chevy paired it with an updated ten-speed Allison automatic, which helps keep that power smooth and steady, whether you’re hauling something huge or just out for a drive. Properly equipped, this setup can pull up to 20,000 pounds.

Of course, Friend’s truck didn’t roll out of the factory looking like this. 717 Supply took things to another level with a 9-inch McGaughys lift kit and custom upper control arms to handle the height. Add in 24x14 KG1 forged wheels and 37-inch tires, and you’ve got what Hyssong called “an absolute unit.”

The inside’s just as dialed in. The LTZ trim includes heated and cooled leather front seats, a 13.4-inch infotainment screen, a digital 12.3-inch driver display, and wireless charging. In short, this Chevy offers a luxury car-level of comfort in a gigantic 4x4 package. Friend’s truck also came with Chevy’s latest trailering tech: extra cameras, backup assist, and tools that make towing less of a hassle.

However, with Storm Gray paint, blacked-out badging, and those monster wheels, this thing isn’t just built to haul—it’s built to turn heads.
