Giveaway #21 Winner Profile:

Kevin Otto and the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71

Kevin Ott’s cross-country flight from Washington State to Pennsylvania was well worth the effort. After all, he arrived at 717 Supply’s headquarters to claim his prize, a gleaming 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 and $40,000.  Looking like he could bench-press the building, Otto’s long-time participation in 717 Supply’s giveaways has paid off spectacularly. Otto’s haul also included a family vacation, which made the win especially sweet.

Otto’s enthusiasm, on full display in this YouTube video, is matched only by his impressive physique that had 717 Supply Founder Mike Hyssong joking, “Kevin is our most jacked winner by far. This man is making me feel so small.”

A straightforward approach to the giveaways was the key to success. “I have been entering for years,” Otto shared, adding that he participates in “every giveaway,” whether it's with a keychain or shirt.  His take is simple: “I was always hoping to win. I mean, someone's got to win. Might as well be me.”

The winning call came as a pleasant shock, though Otto quickly recognized the voice on the other end. “When I got the phone call…I couldn't believe it. Nobody usually believes it, but as soon as I heard Mike say ‘Hey buddy,’ which is the signature…I knew it was true,” he recalled. His reaction was immediate: "I was just in shock pretty much.”

While Otto didn’t doubt the giveaway’s authenticity from the start, his family needed more convincing. “I knew it was real. My wife thought it was a scam until you guys bought my airline ticket to go there. Then she knew it was real,” he explained.

Despite Otto’s stoic nature, it was difficult for him to hide his enthusiasm upon seeing the Tahoe in person. “I absolutely loved it when I first saw it. Black on black. What's not to love?” The three-row SUV came fully loaded with luxury amenities, including rear entertainment screens, a panoramic sunroof, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, power-folding third-row seating, and stylish 22-inch wheels. During the walkthrough, Hyssong made a point of highlighting the family-friendly features of the Tahoe, including the rear entertainment screens with an HDMI setup.

At the same time, Otto was realistic about who would ultimately be in command of the new vehicle. “Once I get home, we'll see how long it takes before my wife says, ‘Let me have the keys.’ It will probably be real quick," he predicted with a laugh. This prophecy proved accurate—the Tahoe is now officially known as “Imee’s Tahoe.” “That’s my wife's name. I gave her the Tahoe and some cash,” he explained during a follow-up.

The family wasted no time putting their new ride to good use. Otto reported, “We took a week-long road trip with the family. My wife, son, and her parents. Put about 1,500 miles on it—a really nice ride.”

For skeptics wondering if 717 Supply's giveaways are scams, Otto gets to the point, “I am proof that they are not. I won, so there’s no reason for them to think it was fake. I mean, there is a YouTube video of me.” His advice to potential entrants reflects his pragmatic worldview: “You have a chance at least to win if you get something and zero chance if you get nothing.”

About the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71

Kevin Otto's 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 combines utility with commanding presence. As he’s already discovered, this full-size SUV is ideal for long road trips and family hauling duties.

Under the hood, the Z71 features a potent 6.2-liter V8 engine with the performance package, producing 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. MotorTrend recorded a zero-to-60 mph time of less than six seconds, an impressive feat for a beast weighing almost three tons. The Tahoe is equally capable of towing a boat, camper, or trailer, making it essential for adventurous families. The Z71 package has an air suspension for on-road comfort and off-road capability. In addition, Otto's fully-loaded example rides on black-finish 22x10-inch wheels that balance aggressive styling with enhanced ride quality.

Inside, the Tahoe is the ultimate family command center, featuring a touchscreen infotainment system, a rear video system, and three-row seating for seven. The second-row captain's chairs provide luxury-car comfort, while the third row offers genuine space for three adults. 717 Supply enhanced Otto's Tahoe with 20% window tinting that perfectly complements the black exterior, giving this Chevy a “Secret Service” vibe, according to Hyssong.
