Giveaway #25 Winner Profile:

Josh Sprabary and the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Josh Sprabary has been buying 717 Supply merchandise since day one. What he never expected was that his loyalty would eventually land him behind the wheel of a 900-horsepower beast. The Denton, Texas resident won 717 Supply's 24th giveaway—a customized 2022 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 plus $30,000. All it took was just two $20 entry packs. “I've been entering since Mike's very first giveaway!” Sprabary revealed, referring to Mike Hyssong, founder of 717 Supply.

Sprabary is upfront about his approach to 717 Supply’s giveaways, “I enter because I think the merch is cool. I like the shirts. I get a lot of compliments…a lot of questions asking…where’d you get this?” He added, “I never imagined I’d win. Never, never even crossed my mind.” The result of Sprabary’s participation? “Probably close to half my closet is 717 clothing,” he commented with pride.

When Hyssong called with the life-changing news, the conversation started with an unexpected twist. “I saw it was a 717 number, but I didn’t know that the winner was being called that day,” Sprabary recalled. “Mike started in with his French accent, and I thought, oh no, it's a spam call. Then he broke character, and I heard his real voice. I recognized it immediately and thought, this can't be real.”

Sprabary reported that his family’s reactions were mixed. “My wife was shocked! She has always given me a hard time for buying merch and entering the giveaways. She told me I’d never win.” He shared that his mother “instantly doubted it and was worried I was being scammed,” while his daughter “was so excited when I told her we won and showed her a picture of the car.”

A trip to 717 Supply’s office in Pennsylvania soon followed the call, where Sprabary’s calm demeanor couldn’t fully mask his excitement. “My first reaction upon seeing the car in person was that it looked so much better than I could have imagined. Pictures did not do it justice, and the car was absolutely flawless!”

The Rapid Blue ZL1 had been extensively modified with a Magnuson supercharger, a custom camshaft, and powder-coated black wheels. Hyssong breaks down all the upgrades on his Street Speed 717 YouTube channel. When he first heard the engine fire up, Sprabary’s reaction was immediate: “That sounds so good. It’s nasty, dude. It’s nasty.”

Hyssong points out the irony of Sprabary’s Camaro win, “This guy owns a Mustang. He has now been converted to a Camaro guy.” The transformation is complete as Sprabary wore a new Camaro shirt from 717 Supply during the reveal and handing over of the keys

The timing couldn't have been better. “The car arrived just in time for us to take it out on a date night to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary,” Sprabary shared. The Camaro was quickly put to use as he reported putting “nearly 1000 miles on the car in the first week!” A favorite moment came “taking my daughter for her first ride in the car and seeing her face light up with excitement when I started the car up and she could feel the cam rock the car.”

Sprabary shares his take on 717 Supply’s giveaways: “To people who feel like these giveaways are fake, I would tell them there may be some that may not be 100% legit, but 717 Supply is as authentic as it gets. The car is the exact car that was advertised; the cash is real!” He added that the “car was delivered at no cost to me, and the title arrived shortly after. Doesn’t get more real than that!”

About the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Josh Sprabary's 2022 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 left the factory making 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque from its 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine. A hefty output by any measure. However, this wasn’t enough for 717 Supply Founder Mike Hyssong. He worked with Pennsylvania-based Complete Street Performance (CSP) to transform this already formidable machine into a 900-horsepower monster.

The extensive modifications began with the upgrade of the factory supercharger to a Magnuson 2650 unit, paired with a Roto-Fab Big Gulp intake system and a Nick Williams throttle body. CSP also installed a custom camshaft, giving the ZL1 a distinctive idle that rocks the entire car. New headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a performance exhaust system were also part of the formula. The result? An impressive 815 rear-wheel horsepower on the dyno. Via tuning, CSP dialed back the horsepower slightly to ensure reliability.

717 Supply powder-coated the stock wheels in a triple-gloss black finish to make the Rapid Blue exterior pop and reinforce the car’s aggressive stance. The sinister appearance gets another boost thanks to 20% window tinting. Complete paint protection film coverage, including the roof, ensures the pristine finish stays flawless.

One of Hyssong’s objectives in modifying the ZL1 was to keep it civilized for daily driving, despite the substantial power increase. At the same time, the six-speed manual gearbox provides an engaging driving experience, supported by an advanced suspension that’s ready for both the track and the street.
