GIVEAWAY #26 WINNER PROFILE:

Neil Thuringer and the 2021 Dodge Hellcat Super Stock

When Neil Thuringer from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, decided to purchase a 10mm ratcheting keychain from 717 Supply, he thought he was simply getting a handy tool. What he actually bought was a ticket to automotive paradise—a modified 2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Super Stock producing over 1,100 horsepower, plus $30,000. It’s all part of 717 Supply’s epic 26th giveaway.

Thuringer bought the keychain because “It's functional and I thought it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. It's so practical,” he explained during his winner interview. He added, “It actually almost made me laugh because who doesn't lose their 10 mm? No way did I ever expect it to win me a car.”

Thuringer brought along his son, Quincy, for the cross-country trip to claim their prize, creating a father-son moment that neither will forget. When the covers came off the Go Mango Orange Super Stock, Thuringer's emotional reaction was heartfelt: “I can't believe it, this is so unbelievable. I'm speechless.” The reveal uncovered an already impressive machine, made more beastly by 717 Founder Mike Hyssong, who added numerous upgrades, including a Kong 2650 supercharger and a King throttle body. “It’s your 1,100 horsepower car,” Hyssong told Thuringer.

What attracted Thuringer to the giveaway wasn't just one car, but two dream machines in the same contest. “I also was looking at that C7 yellow Vette. Two of my dream cars in one giveaway," he shared. "Obviously, you're only going to win one. But in this giveaway, there was no bad prize. I would be just as happy if I won that C7 as I am winning this Hellcat."

The winning call initially left Thuringer in disbelief. “Did I really just win a Hellcat?” he recalled. Thuringer waited for additional confirmation before sharing the news. “I just remained stoic after Mike called me.” After seeing the announcement video on YouTube, he spread the word, starting with his son, who was jumping up and down and screaming, Thuringer reported.

During the engine startup ceremony, Quincy had the honor of firing up the beast with the red key. The moment was everything Thuringer had hoped for: “I can't wait to hear that supercharger, I can't wait to hear that exhaust fire up.” When the engine roared to life, a father's pride was evident.

“It almost feels life-changing because you know this was a dream down the road, and to have it this early in life, I feel blessed, man, really blessed," Thuringer shared. He was already thinking long-term: “So it's going to have a great life, it's going to not get sold, it's going to just get babied in the garage.”

He’s also excited about what's ahead for his 2021 Hellcat Super Stock. “It's going to definitely come out on nice days. There are a lot of good family events. I’ve got a drag strip 30 minutes away from my city. So, it might make a presence there.”

The $30,000 prize provided practical relief alongside his dream car. “I’m so glad you guys give that because I do know a lot of it's got to go towards licensing and taxes,” Thuringer noted.

About the 2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Super Stock

Neil Thuringer's prize—the 2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Super Stock—is automotive history in the making. With fewer than 1,600 ever produced, this machine stands as a very rare American muscle car, making it “museum material,” as highlighted in the YouTube video showcasing the car for the giveaway. The rarity factor cannot be overstated. Not only was production limited from the start, but Dodge only built 57 Super Stocks in Go Mango for the 2021 model year. This is shaping up to be a unicorn.

From the factory, the Super Stock delivered impressive performance, but 717 Supply transformed it into a 1,100-horsepower monster producing 1,000 wheel horsepower. The extensive modifications include a Kong 2650 supercharger, a Kong 130mm throttle body, and a JLT cold air intake.

Additionally, a Ripetune Assassin 2 camshaft produces a distinctive idle chop. Long tube headers and a Ripetune powder-coated blower lid—designed to mimic Mopar's Helephant crate engine—complete the engine bay’s transformation. Completing the modification process are Mickey Thompson 17-inch beadlock wheels with drag radials in the rear. However, the stock rims and tires are also included, in case Thuringer is looking for an even more civilized ride.

The trick behind the Hyssong-supervised upgrades is that this Super Stock remains surprisingly drivable, making it suitable for daily driving or, as Thuringer plans, a day at the track. This Mopar is nothing short of the most potent 717 Supply giveaway to date.
