GIVEAWAY #28 WINNER PROFILE:

Jason Cabrera and the 2023 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06

717 Supply Founder Mike Hyssong was surprised to learn that Jason Cabrera, the winner of the 2023 C8 Z06 giveaway, had never before sat in a Corvette, let alone driven one. Those problems would soon be overcome as this Florida resident takes delivery of a fully loaded 3LZ Z06 thanks to his winning entry in 717 Supply’s giveaway #28. Cabrera’s excitement was evident, commenting on how even more impressive the gleaming black Chevy supercar was in person.

Cabrera's path to becoming a 717 Supply winner began with a simple appreciation for quality merchandise. “I initially saw the YouTube channel, followed you guys a little bit. Saw the t-shirts, tried one out a while ago. It was really good quality. I liked it,” he explained. When he spotted another shirt he wanted—the rifle-themed one he wore during the reveal—he added an entry pack. “When I bought the shirt, I just thought to myself, why not dream?”

Cabrera’s approach to these giveaways reflects a common theme among many 717 Supply winners: an appreciation for the merchandise as much as aspirations for taking home an incredible prize. “I thought I was just getting some gear I liked with, you know, some hopes and dreams in the air, but who knew dreams came true?”

At the same time, Cabrera’s expectations were balanced with reality. “Did I ever see myself actually winning? Absolutely not. I mean, it’s one of those things where you don’t even know people who win these things,” he admitted. Skepticism best describes how those close to Cabrera thought about his good fortune. “When I first told my friends and family what happened, they were like, ‘It’s a scam. It’s not real.’ All the doubt and everything,” he said dismissively.

Cabrera’s first moments seeing the red interior convertible Z06 were overwhelming in the best way possible. He struggled to process what was before his eyes. “This is too much. I don’t even know what to say because it's a dream. You don’t think this could happen to you, and here it is.” This hands-on encounter with this beast dramatically exceeded his expectations. “Video gets you excited, but in person, it's a different animal.”

The car's specifications impressed even someone unfamiliar with Corvettes. The 3LZ trim level meant every available option, from the gloss carbon steering wheel with red stitching to the sport exhaust system that would announce his presence throughout Orlando. Hyssong warned that this Z06 was quite loud, to which Cabrera replied, “I want everybody to hear it. There are a lot of people I don’t like, so that's perfect.”

Cabrera's plans for the C8 reflect someone who intends to enjoy his prize fully. “What I plan to do with the car and the cash is enjoy it. I'm going to drive it around for a bit. Life’s short,” he commented, rejecting the idea of immediately selling such a rare opportunity. A family connection added another dimension to his excitement. His seventh-grade son had identified the C8 as his dream car, making the win particularly meaningful.

About the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06

Cabrera's Z06 is more than a cosmetic upgrade over the regular C8. Its 5.5-liter LT6 produces 670 horsepower without turbochargers or hybrid assistance, spinning to an 8,600-rpm redline that’s almost unheard of in modern supercars. Each engine is hand-assembled at Chevrolet’s Performance Build Center, setting the Z06 apart from the base Stingray and most rivals that lean on forced induction.

The black exterior and red interior create what Hyssong nicknamed the “Darth Vader spec.” As a 3LZ convertible, Cabrera’s Corvette carries every option, from the hydraulic nose lift to upgraded interior materials. Red stitching runs throughout the cabin, and the retractable hardtop can be lowered at up to 20 mph on the move.

Modifications from 717 Supply emphasize sound and stance. A Fabspeed exhaust system with sport catalytic converters amplifies the LT6’s distinctive tone, while ALT forged two-piece chrome wheels offer contrast against the black paint, a choice Hyssong admitted was a departure from his usual builds.

Beyond the cosmetic and audio drama, the Z06 carries serious track hardware. Its body is 3.6 inches wider than the Stingray’s, allowing for massive 345-series rear tires and larger cooling intakes. Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and Brembo six-piston front brakes round out a chassis designed for repeated hard use.

With a Car and Driver-reported zero-to-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds, Cabrera’s likely greatest challenge behind the wheel will be keeping this stealthy rocket under the speed limit. On the track, the 2023 Z06 has a top speed of 189 mph, according to Chevrolet.
