Giveaway #34 Winner Profile:

George S. and the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor

Sometimes, a split-second decision can lead to a life-changing windfall. That’s what happened to George S., who received a text saying a 717 Supply giveaway was about to end. The firefighter from Algonquin, Illinois, recalled, “I decided to take a chance, and it worked out.” His quick entry pack purchase soon turned into a win of a 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor.

George discovered 717 Supply through his son, who’s been following Street Speed 717, the YouTube channel created by 717 Supply Founder Mike Hyssong. The father-son duo would browse giveaways together, entering for vehicles that caught their interest. “We'd find a car or truck that we liked. So we'd enter. I get him t-shirts, or I get myself something.”

Over several years, George accumulated 717 Supply merchandise—t-shirts, key tags, sunglasses—while targeting specific giveaways. “Usually try to get all the Corvettes and then the couple Raptors and TRX that have been in there, ZR2 Bison, trucks like that,” he noted about his entry strategy.

In a winner interview, George mentioned that he appreciates the transparency of 717 Supply’s giveaways. “So you see somebody out there actually won the prizes and the giveaways. To me, it seemed more legit than any of the other ones.”

The winning call nearly didn't go through because George’s iPhone screening system required callers to state their name and the reason for the call. Hyssong navigated the virtual secretary and eventually reached George after multiple attempts. “I recognized his voice, but I still wasn't sure. I was kind of taken aback a little bit," George recalled.

George admitted he had trouble processing the news, which was underscored by his family’s skepticism. “I was texting my son, my wife, and my daughter, and nobody believed me,” he said. When the Instagram announcement appeared, doubt didn’t go away. “They still thought it was AI.”

The disbelief wasn't entirely unreasonable; George's family thought he’d fabricated the social media post. “They thought I made something up on Instagram, which I'm not that talented to do,” he laughed. His solution was simple: “I’m going to pull up in the driveway in this. I think they’re going to believe me now.”

When George arrived at 717 Supply's Pennsylvania headquarters to claim his 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor, the reality still hadn’t fully set in. “I’m in total shock,” he admitted. “It’s just it’s here, and it’s like, wow.”

The fully loaded Raptor in Carbonized Gray impressed George immediately. “This is beautiful. This thing is awesome,” he said, checking out the Arena wheels with 37-inch tires and dark window tint. Hyssong highlighted notable features like the automatic power tailgate and the tech package with its massive infotainment screen.

George, who’s returning to duty following a shoulder injury, appreciated the Raptor’s winter capabilities. Hyssong added that it’s a “Good truck for Illinois this time of year.” George agreed: “I think the guys at the station will like it. I’ll love it.”

Testing the Baja mode, which opens exhaust valves for enhanced sound, drew enthusiastic reactions. The interior's workstation feature—a flat surface created by folding the gear shifter—impressed George with its practicality for someone who might need mobile workspace functionality.

His plans are straightforward and enthusiastic. “I’m going to keep it. I’m going to drive it and enjoy it for hopefully a long time,” George stated. His advice to potential entrants reflects his own unexpected success: “Take a chance on entering. Somebody's got to win, and I didn’t think I was going to win.”

About the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor

  • 450-horsepower, twin-turbo V6
  • 37-inch Performance Package
  • SuperCrew body style
  • Fox Dual Live Valve dampers
  • Arena wheels

The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor awarded to George S., 717 Supply Winner #34, is a fully loaded, third-generation example configured with the desirable 37-inch Performance Package. While the Raptor already earns high marks for its off-road credibility, this truck stands out thanks to a mix of factory hardware and aftermarket upgrades supervised by Mike Hyssong.

George's new truck leans hard into the Raptor’s aggressive presence. Its stance is wide and planted, reinforced by the Arena wheels chosen by Hyssong for their ability to support, not overwhelm, the Raptor’s appearance. The wheels are wrapped in 37-inch all-terrain tires and fill the arches marked by larger fender flares. Meanwhile, this Ford hits the streets and trails with upgraded suspension featuring Fox Live Valve shocks, visible on each corner. Car and Driver calls this truck the “King of the hills and dunes.”

The Raptor graphics package adds contrast without going overboard, adding a slightly muted color tone that avoids the louder look seen on earlier generations. Lighting also plays a big role in the truck’s personality. Up front, the LED headlamps, signature amber marker lights, and integrated fog lamps give the Raptor a distinctive face day and night. In the back, the LED taillights mirror that sharp detailing, while the blacked-out Raptor badging and oversized FORD tailgate lettering keep the rear end visually balanced. Dark window tint completes the exterior, adding privacy while reinforcing the truck’s sinister theme.

Inside, the Raptor blends performance, style, and practicality. The cabin features leather and Alcantara seating with contrast stitching and Raptor branding, paired with carbon-fiber-style trim accents across the dash. A fully digital instrument cluster sits behind the steering wheel, while the large central touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Despite the tech-centric dashboard, the Raptor still offers physical controls for critical systems, such as drive modes.

One of the interior’s most practical touches that caught George's eye is the fold-flat gear selector, which creates a usable work surface when parked. Combined with generous rear-seat legroom and multiple driver memory settings, the Raptor balances its high-performance image with upscale touches and the day-to-day practicality of a crew cab body style.

On the road, the twin-turbocharged V6 delivers strong, immediate power, with output of 450 horsepower. A ten-speed automatic transmission controls what’s sent to each corner. At the same time, multiple exhaust modes allow the truck to shift from quiet cruiser to aggressive off-road adventurer.
