Giveaway #42 Winner Profile:

Brandon D. and the $80,000 Choice

For Brandon D. of Brighton, Colorado, the winner’s call almost never happened. Like a lot of people these days, Brandon has grown used to ignoring unknown numbers. So when his phone lit up with a Pennsylvania area code while he was on his way to the gym, his first instinct was to let it go to voicemail. In fact, he missed the first call entirely.

Fortunately, Bobby from 717 Supply wasn’t giving up that easily.

When Brandon answered the second call, the voice sounded familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it. A moment later, Bobby delivered the news: Brandon had won Giveaway #42, featuring a fully customized 2025 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate, a dream family vacation, and $10,000 in bonus cash.

Brandon’s reaction was immediate. “There’s absolutely no freaking way.” As the reality slowly began sinking in, Brandon pulled over and tried to process what had just happened. “I’m shaking right now,” he said. “I can’t even barely drive right now if this is legit.”

Brandon wasn’t a first-time supporter who got lucky, but he still couldn’t quite believe it. He’d followed 717 Supply since the early days, back to the tie-dye C7 Corvette giveaway. As Brandon put it, “I think other than two, I’ve entered in every single one to be honest.”

That long history made the moment feel even more surreal. “I never thought in a million years this would ever happen,” Brandon said during his conversation with Bobby. He estimates that 60 to 70 percent of his closet is 717 Supply merchandise, making him one of the company’s longest-running supporters.

The timing worked out too. Brandon had recently been forced to replace his daily driver after his previous vehicle unexpectedly died. He’d just bought a beater when the call came in, which made the idea of taking home a brand-new Yukon Denali Ultimate even harder to believe.

After the excitement of the call and a trip to Pennsylvania to visit 717 Supply headquarters, Brandon decided to take the $80,000 cash option instead of driving home in the custom Yukon. It wasn’t an easy call.

“Unfortunately, I did take the check just to say that with a little bit of sadness, but it just seemed like the right thing to do,” Brandon explained. Rather than splurging, Brandon plans to use much of the money responsibly by paying down debt and putting himself in a better position to buy a home in the future.

That doesn’t mean he won’t enjoy at least a small reward for himself. “Probably get myself just maybe a small gift of some sort, you know, splurge a little bit,” Brandon said.

Even after arriving in Pennsylvania and receiving the oversized $80,000 check from 717 Supply Founder Mike Hysong, Brandon admitted the experience still hadn't fully sunk in. “I was just sitting in the parking lot of the gym for 45 minutes. Like, there’s no way,” he recalled. “This definitely doesn’t feel real on day one.”

That feeling returned when he boarded the connecting flight. “Got on the second flight, when we’re coming down to land, I’m like, I’m shaking. Why am I nervous?” Brandon said.

As for telling family and friends, Brandon said there was plenty of skepticism at first. His dad, who had received a few 717 Supply Corvette posters from Brandon in the past, initially struggled to believe the news. Others questioned whether the whole thing was legitimate. Brandon’s response was simple: head to YouTube and watch the winner videos.

Now, Brandon can officially say he’s part of that club himself. “It’s definitely going to be life-changing,” he said. “It’s definitely one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had.”

Giveaway Winner Picks the Cash Option

Brandon liked the customized Yukon Denali Ultimate, but the $80,000 cash option better fit his plans. 717 Supply lets winners take cash instead of the vehicle, so they can pick whatever works for their situation. For Brandon, it came down to money and where he wants to be in a few years.

“Hopefully buy a house in the next couple of years, start saving up, and be a little responsible for once,” he said. Turning down the Yukon wasn’t easy, but Brandon said the cash was “the right thing to do” for where he is right now.
